North Korean President Choi Kim tried to achieve peace with the country’s southern neighbor in the final years of his tenure, with the ultimate objective of reunification. His son, General Choi Song, and the military clique led by him, on the other hand, fiercely disagreed with the older man’s beliefs. Choi Song eventually assassinated his father, assumed control of North Korea, and cut relations with the outside world.
The Australian Navy then intercepted a North Korean cargo transporting nuclear weapons destined for terrorist cells. China, South Korea, and the Allied Nations responded by sending troops into the volatile region to destabilize Song’s authority. The Russian Mafia has a foothold in North Korea to take advantage of the circumstances. A hundred million dollar bounty was declared for General Song, and this is where the mercenaries come into play.
Mercenaries: Playground of Destruction is a large-world free-roaming war action and driving game featuring open-ended gameplay. The player can take control of one of three mercenary protagonists, each with unique strengths: North American Chris Jacobs can bring more harm; Hong Kong’s Jennifer Mui is skilled at stealth; and Sweden’s Mattias Nilsson can sprint faster than the others. Each mercenary also speaks a distinct language, making them more or less fit for working with specific factions.
Players have unrestricted access to a vast environment to collect bounties on the “Deck of 52,” a list of the most wanted people in General Song’s administration. Four groups have moved into profit from the coup; each party will provide the player with resources like cars and supplies and assignments that the player may employ to earn money. If the player completes missions for a faction, they will provide information on the locations of various bounties from the deck, albeit the rewards can be found without them.
Players have a plethora of resources at their disposal to complete the task. It is possible to hijack tanks, helicopters, and other military equipment to destroy the game’s destructible scenery over the North Korean countryside. They are aiding various groups that grant access to many vehicle drops, supply drops, and air strikes.
