Rez is a first-person shooter video game that thrusts you into the bowels of the global computer network. The “Project K” Network has just been modified to accommodate the rapid expansion of the information age. The core of the network, known as “Eden,” contains the most advanced artificial intelligence the world has ever seen. Unfortunately, Eden is unable to cope with the responsibility of being able to generate her ideas, and she eventually has a nervous breakdown brought on by the stress. You are the only one who can bring her back online and save the world from complete anarchy because she is now missing and buried deep within the system.
While searching for Eden, you must eliminate complex viruses, crack passwords, and take down bosses guarding firewalls. Each level is always in a state of flux, and the degree to which it is determined by your shooting techniques—which ultimately choose the music and the colors in your environment—cannot be overstated. The further you venture into the surreal cyber world of Rez, the more likely your appearance may change, either for the better or for, the worse, depending on how far you reach.
