Tokyo Xtreme Racer is a one or two-player racing game based on illegal street racing in Tokyo.
The game begins by providing the player $15000 to purchase their car. Class A vehicles have the most potent engines; Class B cars have mid-range machines but are more balanced; and Class C cars lack power but have better handling. Needless to add, the cash the payer starts with is sufficient for each group’s lowest automobiles; nevertheless, players must win some money.
After selecting a vehicle, the player inputs their name and customizes their license plate, and the game begins. There are seven ‘game modes,’ five of which are distinct methods to play the game; these game types are the same for all automobile classes.* Mode 1: This is the Quest mode, where the player attempts to rise to the top by challenging other racers.
Mode 2: The Quick Race mode, where the player begins on the road and races a random AI opponent.
Mode 3: Time Attack mode, in which the player races around a Tokyo track to set a new best time.
Mode 4: Free Run allows the player to drive wherever in Tokyo.
Versus mode is the only two-player aspect of the game.
Mode 6: All system configuration choices, including the ability to customize the controller buttons, are preserved in this mode.
Mode 7: The DVD Extras, the US trailer for the film “The Fast And The Furious,” and the short documentary “Tokyo Hardcore: Night Warriors” are included in the UK release.
