The sci-fi melee fighting game known as War of the Monsters occurs in the future. An alien race arrives on Earth and launches an assault on the planet. Ultimately, humanity developed a new technology to eradicate the aliens, only to discover that odd fluids from the damaged UFOs stream into different regions, creating creatures that inflict even more damage on Earth.
Fight against a computer opponent solo or team up with a friend. There are several different game modes available, such as “Adventure,” “Free for all,” “Endurance,” and “Elimination,” as well as Minigames. Specific game modes can only be played by one or two players simultaneously. The game allows you to save your progress after each level, and you can load it later. During each skirmish, there are opportunities to pick up various items, including health packs, weapons (such as cars, rubble, and spears), energy packs, and special cubes. Each victory in the adventure mode earns you tokens, which may be put toward purchasing new monster outfits, arenas, and minigames.
