You take control of a character named Hoshi, who is a Zwooph, in the action-puzzle game Bliss Island. Hoshi can juggle or move other things as well as himself by shooting blasts of air from his trunk. The game consists of a collection of minigames that can either be played independently (with the objective being to gain a high score) or through the adventure mode (where you play each one in order, only moving to the next one once you’ve accomplished a goal or high enough score).

The objectives of the minigames include things like maneuvering Hoshi into invader-style blocks as they move down the screen and destroy them. This is accomplished by firing bursts of air from Hoshi, which then causes him to move in response.

  • In a manner analogous to that of pachinko machines found in arcades, the player can send fruit balls flying into other things (such as flower bumpers) with the hope that they would dart around the screen and end up in the jaws of a monster.
  • A form of trick-shot billiards in which the objective is to pocket as many balls as possible using only a set number of air pulses by shooting Hoshi at the balls on the table.
  • In Bee Racing, you compete against AI bees on a track while avoiding obstacles like rocks and snails. The controls are similar to those in Hoshi.
  • … in addition to a variety of different minigames that are based on the concept of ricocheting balls off of targets and into holes, either within a set amount of time or to accomplish a specific objective (such as removing bugs from a flower, hitting another ball of the same color, collecting stars, etc.).

The PSP version adds a two-player wifi option called “local ad-hoc” that includes multiplayer versions of Bee Racing and Invaders and a soccer game that is only playable with other people. The PC version is a single-player experience exclusively.
