It is a 3D platform game with an emphasis on action and platforming, as well as puzzle aspects. The game is called Gurumin: A Monstrous Adventure. The story centers on a young girl named Parin, who is forced to relocate to live with her grandfather, the mayor of a mining town called Tiese, while her parents are away on an excavation in another country. When Parin first heard that she would be the only child in the village and that she would have no one to play with, she began to second-guess her decision to move in with her grandfather. Despite this, her grandfather recommends that she take a stroll through the neighborhood and pay a visit to Fan, the proprietor of the local bakery, to inquire about the possibility of developing a friendship with her.

After walking around the stores and discovering everything that little Tiese has to offer, Parin is taken aback when she comes across a girl a stray dog is mauling. It doesn’t take long for Parin to realize that the “girl” she has rescued is actually a monster by the name of Pino, despite her haste in coming to the rescue of the victim. After that, Pino and Puku, Pino’s brother, take Parin via a secret door close to her home and bring her to Monster Village, where she finally makes some pals to hang out with and meets the rest of the monsters who live there. Unfortunately, not long after, Puku is abducted by malevolent beings known as phantoms, and it is up to Parin to rescue him. Because the other monsters only have a legendary drill, they give it to Parin as the only weapon they possess.

While Parin is navigating the first dungeon in her quest to save Puku, the phantoms launch an assault on Monster Village, which jeopardizes the entire world’s safety. Parin must now navigate through additional dungeons to save the world and bring Monster Village back to its former glory.

The power of Parin’s drill can be increased while she is engaged in combat or at a restoration point, but it can also be decreased while she is taking damage. In addition, Parin can don accessories, each of which confers a unique benefit, such as a boost to her defense or an increase in the number of coins she earns for vanquishing foes. Coins and rubbish are the two forms of in-game cash that may be spent to purchase and improve equipment, as well as learn new moves and abilities. Coins can be gained in a variety of ways, including finding them in pots or having foes drop them; however, rubbish can only be obtained if the enemy that dropped it was also carrying an item, such as a shield.
