NBA 07 is a sports video game that focuses on basketball and was developed by a team at Sony San Diego, an internal branch of Sony. As a result, the title is exclusive to the gaming consoles produced by the Japanese multinational corporation. The continuation of NBA 06, NBA 07 has a variety of enhancements and new features, as one would expect from a new iteration in the series.

Because NBA 07 utilizes the full NBA license, it features authentic-looking versions of the league’s teams, players, and venues. The developers have made it possible to play all 82 games from the 2006–2007 season and prepare a significant number of additional minigames for players to enjoy in addition to this option. We could, for instance, play the “Own the Court,” “1 on 1,” “3 on 3,” or “21” game style, in which the winning team is the first one to score 21 points. There is also the game known as “HORSE,” which is played on the street and consists of trying to make as few mistakes as possible. Whoever makes a mistake is awarded the letter “H,” and if they make a second mistake, they collect the letter “O,” and so on until the entire word is assembled. The objective of the game is, of course, to ensure that the other participant is the one who earns the less-than-honorable label of “HORSE.”

An attractive option is “The Life,” and players are given a simulation of the lives led by NBA superstars in real life. In it, players have the potential to sustain injuries, make appearances at press conferences, and participate in the post-match analysis of each match in a specialized television studio. You can play as either “The Kid” or “Big W,” both of whom have different career trajectories in this game. As we progress, we will have the opportunity to hone our talents in various minigames.

In NBA 07, new animations of player motions (dunks, passes, and dribbling) are included, and the controls have been somewhat refined. It is possible to perform a variety of impressive tricks, such as passing the ball without looking or the famous “alley-oops,” which involve passing the ball to a teammate who is jumping under the basket, who then takes possession of the ball while it is in flight and finishes the play with a spectacular dunk.
