In the past, the Patapon tribe, under the leadership of their god Almighty, was a great power that had to be reckoned with. As they looked for the legendary Earthend, they overcame any threat and got any treasure they desired. Nonetheless, those times are a distant memory, and the Patapons of today are a pale reflection of who they once were. Assume the responsibilities of the All-Powerful, and lead the Patapons to their previous grandeur!
Patapon is a cross between a rhythm game like PaRappa the Rapper and a strategy game featuring unit management like Advance Wars. Patapon is a hybrid game. As they navigate the world pursuing Earthend, players take on the role of ‘Almighty,’ the god of the Patapons. To accomplish this, press the Circle button, then the X button, then the Square button, and finally the Triangle button. Each of these buttons corresponds with a unique form of a drum beat. When you press one of several possible sets of four seconds, the Patapons will repeat the moment, and then they will carry out the action you instructed them to, such as moving forward, backward, or attacking. If the player keeps performing beats without making any mistakes, they will enter the ‘Fever’ Mode, which causes the Patapons to do their activities more forcefully and quickly.
At the Tree of Life, players can craft new Patapon units by accumulating various items, such as meat and wood, and spending Ka-ching, the game’s currency. Then, before the player enters a stage, these units can be readied for the battle to offer them more excellent armor, shields, and weaponry, which will help them fight more successfully against their adversaries.
