I really admire the work b122251 did on his port of Tomb Raider II Gold/Golden Mask on PS1, but I wasn’t satisfied with those black loading screens. So I e-mailed him and he kindly gave me the scripts and loading screens and he allowed me to share them with you, so I compiled every version.
This update features:
– 5 new loading screens made by Lito Perezito for each level
– 4 new localised versions (French, German, Italian, Spanish), scripts by SuiKaze Raider
– equivalent NTSC 60Hz versions for PAL regions, if you prefer to have a better frame rate
Since Nightmare in Vegas was inaccessible for some people even after collecting every secret, I decided to activate the level selection flag so people can play it (New Game -> Nightmare in Vegas), otherwise it doesn’t change anything you can select any level or still play the game in the right order.
Please note that this update does not modify the levels in any way, and that old bugs, if any, are still present.

December 3rd 2023: Played again the whole game on Duckstation PS1 emulator this time, I tried to trigger crashes and bugs on every level but it looks like everything is working fine (NiV does unlock after getting every secrets too), I highly recommend using this emulator.
List of bugs and crashes I’ve seen on forums and encountered while playing (played on WiiStation 2.4 PS1 emulator):
BUGS:
– NTSC versions doesn’t show the anti-piracy warning screen when you boot the game.
– I had a similar ghost door bug like in TR3 after pulling the lever where you find the first snowmobile then saving and reloading, this bug is inconsistent.
– Nightmare in Vegas not unlocking after completing the game with every secrets.
– Nightmare in Vegas has the same bugs the PC version has. If you visit the level in a wrong order, you might face the giant bird boss being stuck behind a wall that doesn’t open or the bird not spawning at all. I suggest following Stella’s playthrough of TR II Gold. If this happen, you will need to restart the whole level.
– I have also read about save corruption if you save in the wrong place.
CRASHES:
I had 4 crashes while trying to pause or access inventory in some areas, they seems consistent.
Level 1: The place where you spawn the second snowmobile guy near the big ice wall.
Level 2: Outside where you fight two guys on a elevated platform with a bunch of crates.
Level 4: In the arena where you fight consecutive waves of enemies after activating levers. Just after the arena outside in the jungle area.
