Anarchy Reigns is a third-person brawler combat game where players select one of sixteen possible fighters to battle in massive arenas. Several weak and robust attacks identify each character with a distinctive weapon, a distinct fighting style, throws, and various actions that can be combined. They also have a move that clears the surrounding space, and many of their activities are incredibly violent and over the top. It is possible to focus on a single character and conduct evasive maneuvers. While fighting, a rampage mode is charged up, and there are also bonus goods such as shields and rocket launchers. Action Trigger Events (A.T.E.) are used in the game, where environmental activities can be triggered to affect the conflict. Plane accidents, black holes, and blitz bombings are examples of this. Following a new world war, Earth is described in the game’s narrative as a mutant-infested wasteland teeming with monsters and cyborgs.
The emphasis is mainly on multiplayer, featuring game types such as Battle Royale, Capture the Flag, Death Ball, Death Match, Survival, and Tag Team for up to sixteen players at once. A single-player- campaign also shares many of the multiplayer locations’ assets. It is divided into two sections, one for Jack Cayman, the Gator Tooth double chainsaw-wielding protagonist from MadWorld, and one for Leonhardt “Leo” Victorino, a new character—an agent of the Bureau’s Strike One team who wields chargeable positron blades. There are multiple hub places in the single-player portion where several enemies must be beaten to continue and enter new objectives. The campaigns cross across various locations. Jack and Leo are antagonists who both desire to find Maximillian Caxton, who murdered Jack’s daughter. After each campaign’s four phases (White and Black), Red is unlocked as an additional one.
Big Bull (a cyborg with a human brain), Blacker Baron, Mathilda (who uses her Iron Maiden spiked club), and Rin Rin (who utilizes the Yanlong swords) are the other characters who return from MadWorld.
