Dead Rising 2: Case 0 is a standalone DLC pack for the Xbox 360 that serves as a precursor to the main edition of Dead Rising 2.
Set two years after the events of the first Dead Rising and three years before the events of Dead Rising 2; the player assumes the role of Chuck Greene, a former motocross champion whose daughter, a zombie, has bitten Katey and must be treated with the anti-zombie medication Zombrex within the next 12 hours. Unfortunately, Chuck’s truck is stolen while passing through Still Creek, a small town just outside of Fortune City that has been infested with zombies, and he now has to find all of the components to build a motorcycle before the army arrives to deal with the undead outbreak while fending off the zombies.
The gameplay is similar to that of the first Dead Rising. The player can explore Still Creek in the third person in search of motorbike components, encountering zombies as they progress. On your journey, you will come across many objects that can be utilized as weapons or combined with other things to construct makeshift weapons that you can use to fight against the undead hordes. You will also locate ‘Combo Cards,’ allowing you to build these numerous improvised weaponry. Furthermore, as you continue through the game and achieve notable achievements, you will gain PP (Prestige Points) and progress through each PP level, providing the player with increased stats such as improved health and strength. You can advance to level five during Case Zero. The PP you earn, and the Combo Cards you find can also be transferred to Dead Rising 2.
