Boyd Travers is an 82nd Airborne Division soldier. He must perform various missions in Italy, France, the Netherlands, and Germany as part of a more extensive operation. He fights alongside his AI colleagues to liberate Europe.

After a briefing and the opportunity to adjust your initial weapon loadout, all missions begin with a jump out of an airplane. The parachute leap gives you some leeway in determining your starting place. There’s also a specific spot where you get a bonus if you successfully land. During these operations, anti-aircraft weaponry must be detonated, fellow soldiers must be rescued, and enemy tanks must be destroyed with bazookas. To give you more options in your loadout, you are not only allowed access to enemy weaponry, but you can also benefit from your improvements. You receive an upgrade when you achieve remarkable feats of gallantry and marksmanship. This means you will receive an upgrade if you kill three adversaries in a row. These improvements include a more prominent magazine for the German K98 and a grip for the Thompson machine gun to improve accuracy.

The healthcare system is also noteworthy. Boyd has four health beads. If an adversary hits you but does not empty the bead, your health will replenish until the dot is empty. If you lose a bead, you must pick up a health pack to reclaim it.

Along with the single-player narrative, there are three multiplayer modes for up to 12 players called Team Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch Airborne, and Objective, all of which pit Axis against Allied. While Team Deathmatch is pretty standard, Team Deathmatch Airborne has an exciting twist. The Allies land on the map via airdrop in this mode, while the Axis begin on the ground. The mission’s goal is to capture all three flags on the map.
