– The game runs with DxWnd on Windows 8 and newer
IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT MUSIC PLAYBACK (only for Windows 8 and newer OSes):
Inside this RAR you will see the program called “CoolSoft_MIDIMapper_1.0.0.exe”. You NEED to install it for proper MIDI music playback, otherwise you will get annoying error messages every 2-3 seconds
1. Run the file as Administrator and install the program
2. At the end of the installation the final window will say “Open Configurator”, keep that box checked, you can uncheck the box where it says “Automatic update check”. Click the Finish button
3. A configuration window will appear, select the default MIDI device as “Microsoft GS Wavetable Synth”, click Apply and OK
4. Done, start the game from the desktop shortcut
On Windows 7 and older, there is no music playback for some strange reason
If you also want cutscenes playback, you need to install the “Legacy Indeo Audio/Video Codecs”, these can be found in our “Tools & Runtimes” page
